the 100 push ups challenge

My cousin Janae recently blogged about the 100 push ups challenge. I was very intrigued. I went to the website and read all about it. I decided I wanted to do it! I told a bunch of my friends about it and convinced my roommate to do it with me. We did the initial test on Saturday. She was with Janae--but I told her that she could definitely do it because I had proof that Janae was!

My "initial test" total: 20. The last couple were definitely rough.

So I went to the website and figured out how many pushups I was supposed to do on the 1st day. It gives you 5 sets of push ups to do and you're told to take at least a 60 second break between each set. You do this 3 times a week and the number of push ups slowly increases. I looked at the sets I was supposed to do and thought...really? I am supposed to be able to do this?!

So tonight I did my first set of 10. I was fine. I did 12 more. I was exhausted. (I don't think I waited a whole 60 seconds between and I really should've.) I waited at least 60 seconds. I did 7 more. Another 60 second break. I did 7 more. Another 60 second break. 9 more. Kind of dying.

But how many push ups did I do tonight? 45. In just about 5 minutes. That is an accomplishment. 100 hundred pushups...here I come!

Feel free to join me in my quest and comment on your accomplishments :).

p.s. I discovered (after I wrote this post) that this 100 push ups challenge is referring to 100 CONSECUTIVE push ups. Not just 100. I'm getting a little more nervous about it...

Woohoo! Company! I'm seriously so impressed with how many you can do. I'm up to 25 and I feel like a super star. Good luck!

I am your twin! I did 20 on my initial test and then did the first sets yesterday. It was exhausting. I'm amazed my arms don't ache today.
