my college life

Last Sunday, my roommates (Nichelle, Summer, and Kristin) and I decided to be adorable and take roommate pictures. We went up to North Canyon Rd. where they have this little creek and rocks and basically its very pretty (I think they just made it for people to take cute pictures). Here are some of the pictures we took:

Yeah, we ended up having a water fight. It was SO fun.

Okay, story time. So once upon a time I was sitting in the math lab reading a textbook preparing to teach a lab section for the class I TA for. These guys at the other end of the table were talking, and one was obviously tutoring the other. I heard the boy say, "I can't believe I'm not getting paid for this." Being the curious and friendly person I am, I made conversation. I was still working on my stuff, but we'd talk every so often. I was there less than like 20 minutes, but when I left, the boy was like "hey, are you doing anything this friday night?" I was totally shocked that he asked me that, so I awkwardly said "um...well, uh...umm" (while everyone at the tables surrounding us was watching) and then was like, "uh, no, I don't think so. Why?" (knowing perfectly well why he was asking) and then he totally asked me out. We went out and it was fine, but I definitely would never be interested in him. He was nice enough, but that's it. Anyway, it was a funny situation.

So for one of my classes, I have to volunteer at a school in a math class (like once a week). I'm volunteering at my Uncle Dave's school, Oak Canyon Junior High, in Lindon. It is way fun. The teacher that I'm with is SUCH a good math teacher. I'm way impressed by things he does. I hope that I'll be as good of a teacher as he is. Anyway, I'm really enjoying my time there.

Yesterday, my best friend Erica invited me to go with her to lunch at her grandparents house. They live up in the canyon in Spanish Fork. It was so so pretty up in the mountains with the trees all changing color. Her grandparents house was completely surrounded by trees and it totally reminded me of home. Being up there was really fun, and Erica's grandpa even took us four wheeling. We went up into the mountains and it was so so pretty and he picked wild berries for us and we ate them and they were yummy. So so fun. Lunch was also delicious and they sent me home with some watermelon. Too bad I stuffed my face and then an hour later I went to a dinner with my stake before the Relief Society broadcast. I even ate all the food they served. Afterward, I wanted to barf.

Oh, and here are some pics of my apartment. I'm too lazy to get up and take any of my room, but it's a nice room and I have an awesome closet. And just my roommate and I share the bathroom, it's in our room like a Master bedroom. Very nice. These pics are just ones I stole from my roommate who took them:

That's all for now. Feel free to leave me comments because I love them a lot a lot and it would make my day. :)

My husband and I met while we were TAs... AND I went on another date with one of the other TAs before I started dating Brian, so you just never know... ;-)

How fun that you're volunteering at Uncle Dave's school! Which teacher are you working with? (I worked with all those guys when I was subbing there for a while.) The math teachers there are all great!

Reading your posts make me happy inside. All of the phrases you say make me miss you tons. Good job for posting and not being a slacker. :)

Your apartment is nice. I don't remember living in anything so spacious except when I stayed with Candy and Phil. The roommate pictures were so much fun! You girls look like you get along really great. College life sounds more exciting than mommy life right now! :)
