Today, I went on an adventure with my mom and my sister downstairs to the food storage room. My mom bought a cool new shelf for our food, so first we had to figure out how to put it together. (We were successful. Yes, we are impressive.) Then, what was supposed to be a quick transferring-of-food-onto-the-new-shelf became a 8 hour food storage room party. We decided to completely reorganize the room, clean it, take everything off all of the shelves, move them, and then put everything back on in a very organized way. And we got rid of all the...umm...expired food that really needed to be thrown (we had 4 huge garbage bags full). Here are some beautiful pictures (it looks disorganized-ish, but trust me, it's gorgeous):
We actually had a LOT of fun doing it. We played music, laughed hysterically (so much that our stomachs hurt and Molly thought she was having a heart attack), and kept saying that this was the best, most funnest day of our lives. It seriously will bring wonderful memories in the years to come.
Also, I learned something new. Probably something everyone else knows (since Molly looked at me like I was a complete idiot). Did you know there is no such thing as white food coloring? I really think there should be. Like, when you want to dye something white....for the 4th of July? Like if you wanted white jello? Or what if you wanted to like...make toast and then decorate it with butter that is red, white, and blue and make a flag design? (I did that once when I was 13, except it was red, white, and yellow, darn it.) Anyway, I think they should make white food coloring. Molly told me there was no point since most things you want to dye are white to start with, but whatever. I think it would be cool.

Aren't we just talented? :)
P.S. Um, there would be no point of white food coloring. i love how you are so caught up with this. Very entertaining. The end.
I get the feeling that the food storage organization thing wouldn't have happened if you weren't there. It sounds fabulously fun to me! :)
BTW, I once lived with a family and found food storage applesauce unopened in the fridge - dated 1986. The bottled pears, peaches, etc. in the basement were from the 70's. I think you'd die sooner eating those than you would if you just starved. Gross!
What a project! I love organization, so this would be right up my alley. Glad you had so much fun doing it together!
